Simon Chate (B. Cont. Mus., Dip. Ed.)

Musical Director, Singer/Instrumentalist, Teacher, Composer, Arranger.



Simon has a Bachelor of Contemporary Music, majoring in voice, and a Graduate Diploma of Education. He has taught singing since 1995 and guitar since 1982, and has directed choirs intensively since 2000. Simon is a keen performer with extensive experience, both in Australia and Internationally, as a solo artist, and as part of various larger groups. He has toured internationally on five occasions as a tenor with celebrated vocal ensemble, Isabella A Cappella - four times to Japan, and once to New Zealand.

Simon has worked hard to encourage Men Wot Sing to strive to reach their potential. He is passionate about their sound and is developing the group sense that entertainment is so much more than just is movement and energy, laughter and tears. Men Wot Sing are the audio visual equivalent of Musical Shock and Awe.


Simon is father to two children, Jessica (5) and Ewan (2) and partner to Shirley. He lives in Alstonville, N.S.W. and is currently teaching music at Alstonville High School, in N.S.W.
